Great to be involved with the Australian Institute of Music – iHUB and NSW Govt’s Sparkfest last night, moderating a panel on new industry models for developing artists and alternative startup ideas.
The panel did a great job in;
– contrasting old and existing models around signing to labels and publishers;
– looking at current trends of maintaining rights and selecting best of breed services, and ;
– also looking at innovative ideas such as an “all in” start up model with artist, managers, financiers/fans all owning a shareholding in the artist career and the future.
